The Albany Museum, located in Grahamstown in the Eastern Cape Province, was established in 1855 and is the second oldest museum in South Africa. It is a provincial museum funded by the Department of Sport Recreation Arts and Culture of the Eastern Cape government and is an affiliated research institute of Rhodes University.

The small village of Nieu Bethesda is home to the wonderful treasure called The Owl House, which draws thousands of visitors to this South African town.

The permanent collections consist of South African art (particularly that of the Eastern Cape), British art, international printmaking and Oriental art. The three exhibition halls are rehung every few months ... all are welcome to view. Tours and School workshops are held daily.
