AMP Transformers trade as an Exempted Micro Enterprise in terms of B. B. B. E. E. legislation. The corporation acquired the business which was formerly known as AMPTEC, which traded for ten years. Amp Transformers opened a branch in Welkom in July 2007 to service existing and new customers for the Free State and Northern Cape Regions.
