This veteran market has moved from the Bird Sanctuary to the banks of the Duzi River in a picturesque old-Maritzburg setting with easier access and more parking. Regulars wait in the dark in winter to raid the 85 stalls (18 of which feature farm fruit and vegetables), which are often decimated by the end of the dawn sortie.
