Dolphin Point, Kaaimans Pass

Keimans Mountain Pass situated in the Garden Route, Western Cape Province of South Africa. Located above the Keimans River on the N2 tar Road between the towns of George and Wilderness. The Pass itself is incredibly beautiful and Dolphin Point situated at the top East end of the pass is an ideal point to stop. From here you will be able to view the Keimans River mouth which has an tidal estuary at its mouth. In front of the view point there are tables available for you to enjoy your picnic. You will be able to view the famous railway bridge which crosses the river mouth, which was used by the Outeniqua Choo-Tjoe (the last passenger steam train in Africa that finally ended operation in June 2009) . Dolphin's Point also gives a magnificent view of Wilderness Beach and beyond. The sighting dolphin's and whales during the winter months is not uncommon.
