At the gateway to Engen South Africa's Favourite Village 2003 you can indulge in locally produced jams, preserves, dried fruit, home-made sweets, raisins on the stalk and yoghurt-covered dates. The stall also sells Makwiro cheese from Barrydale.

You will be greeted by scarecrows surrounding this place. Inside is a large selection of dried fruit s and nuts, refreshing fruit juices, ice creams and sweets, and of course the well taken care of strawberries by these scarecrows. There is a wine cellar with some oldest wines available in retail outlet dating back to the 1970’s.

Pick and buy strawberries from August to December, plus farm-grown leeks, cabbages, peppers and broccoli. Biscuits and diabetic rusks are baked locally.
