Negative: Not Responsive, Not Good Value.

I see a lot of positive reviews but I guess I was not lucky with City View. I gave birth in the car as the midwife (Susan) kept on saying I shouldn’t come to the hospital I’m far even after calling her after my water broke she still said I mustn’t come I’m far. I forced to go to the hospital when I felt the head of my baby but it was too late I couldn’t reach the hospital I gave birth in the car. My pains started in the morning I started communicating with her from that time , when my pains got worse around 7pm I forced to go the hospital she returned me home and charged me R650. They still charged me R8000 for checking me and the baby and refunded the balance.

A hospital dedicated entirely to children - especially children predominantly from impoverished communities throughout South Africa and Africa - is critically important. So important, that it needs a champion to make sure that it's able to keep doing the phenomenal work it does. The Children's Hospital Trust is an independent non-profit organization established in 1994 to raise funds to support specific projects and programmes to help advance child healthcare through the Red Cross War Memorial Children's Hospital - the first stand-alone tertiary hospital, exclusively for children, in sub-Saharan Africa. The Trust raises funds for the upgrade and expansion of the Hospital's buildings, the purchase of state-of-the-art medical equipment, new medical treatment programmes and funds the training of medical professionals across Africa - ensuring that the Hospital not only retains its world-class stature, but is able to continue providing life-changing and life-saving care for children.

  • Kwazulu-Natal Children’s Hospital Trust
    Durban, South Africa
The KwaZulu-Natal Children's Hospital (formerly known as the Addington Children's Hospital) was built in 1928 and was the first hospital for children on the African continent. In 1984, at the peak of the huge combined internal and international struggle against Apartheid, the wards of the Hospital were closed by the Apartheid government as the hospital treated children of all races. The hospital remained closed for an astounding 28 years. Following the decision to renovate the Children's Hospital being unanimously approved by the KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) Provincial Cabinet in December 2009, the KZN Children's Hospital Trust was established and tasked with fundraising for and project managing the renovation and re-establishment of the Children's Hospital, now renamed The KwaZulu-Natal Children's Hospital. Refurbishment of the hospital commenced in February 2012.
