What is considered the best cut of all, the fillet remains supreme and the most tender cut on the ostrich. We have a range of fillet cuts, from Fan fillet, Eye fillet and Tenderloin, to portioned fillets that are smaller in size. We offer both chilled and frozen product, individually sealed portions and bulk packed. These products are available in most super markets in South Africa. Highgate, established almost 100 years ago by the Hooper family, is a large Ostrich Farming concern producing primarily feathers and ostrich by-products. Highgate opened to the public in 1938 and since then many thousands of visitors from all over the world have been entertained on the establishment.
