Armscor - Armour Development
The Armour Development Division is responsible for the research and development of passive and reactive armour systems for the South African National Defence Force. These systems are intended for use on vehicles, ships and as personnel protection. The Research and Development is centered around Development and testing of new armour materials. Development of armour protection systems against KE penetrators - small, medium and heavy calibre. Development of armour protection systems against HEAT missiles - passive laminates and explosive reactive armours Development of personnel protection systems - body armour Armour Development is focused on developing and improving existing armour protection systems against all known threats. We welcome collaboration subject to agreements on non-disclosure and protection of intellectual property.
