The Afro Hairdressing and Beauty Employers Association of Southern Africa (AHBEASA) is registered as an employer Association under Labour Law Relations Act and non-profit organisation. Afro Hairdressing and Beauty Employers Association of Southern Africa (AHBEASA) was founded in 1990 with wide-ranging changes taking place in South Africa, as well as internationally, black business people in the afro hair & beauty industry will find it more difficult to operate in isolation and ensure survival. A lifeline for afro hairdressing & beauty is the employer body corporate represented by the Afro Hairdressing & Beauty Employers Association of Southern African (AHBEASA) and its three constituent chambers. Namely Afro hairdressing, Beauty and SMME AHBEASA is apolitical. It is "the body of black owned salon businesses in the hairdressing & beauty sector" and it ensures that this body protect the interests of black hairdressing & beauty salon businesses, at local, regional and national level
