SUMMIT is South Africa's leading business TV channel. Since launching in March 1999, it's become compulsory viewing for the country's business leaders and decision makers. It is broadcast on Channel 412 on DStv and is available in 1 500 000 households across Southern Africa. Most of these are in South Africa, though Summit is watched as far north as Zambia. Summit is owned by the African Business Channel (ABC), the TV and radio wing of BDFM Media (publisher of Business Day and the Financial Mail) . BDFM is a joint venture between Avusa and UK group Pearson, which owns the Financial Times. One of Summit's strengths is its access to the news gathering resources of both these publications.
