Our exhibits explain how technology has influenced the development of forestry history over the years. The Museum views the birth of forestry and the role trees play in nature and offers information on the land preparation, planting and the management of un-utilized land as well as educating how we can add value to an environmentally friendly industry. The Phansi Museum private collection of Southern African tribal artifacts is beautifully displayed in the basement rooms of Robert's house-a Victorian historical monument. To get there from the CBD - follow Sydney Road out of town for 1, 9km. Turn right into Franks Road (directly after Timber City) go over Umbilo Road to Frere Road (0. 6km) turn left and go up the hill (0. 4km) . At the top of the corner of Cedar Road is the rambling double storey-Roberts house.

The Apartheid Museum is the story of the triumph of the human spirit over adversity and oppression. Beginning in 1948, the white elected National Party government initiated a process that turned more than 20 million people into 2nd class citizens, damning them to a life of servitude, humiliation and abuse. Their liberation in 1994 was the climax of a nation's resistance, courage and fortitude. The path through the museum leads you on a journey beginning with segregation, the cornerstone of apartheid. It takes you back through the history of the myriad cultures converging during the pre-apartheid era, through the years of race classification, the 150 acts of apartheid, detentions and the oppression of the nationalist regime. You will examine the rise of black consciousness and the armed struggle, and finally witness the release of Nelson Mandela after 27 years of imprisonment which led to the negotiations for peace. The Museum has been conceptualised by a multi-disciplinary team..

The Transnet Transport Museum is the largest transport museum in South Africa where the history of the railways is preserved for future generations. Various transport items are on display, selection of steam locomotives, road transport vehicles, paintings, furniture, crockery, cutlery, model locomotives and planes, vintage cars and a large model train layout.
