Lerato House was established in 1998 to provide a transitional residential facility for young girls at-risk in the city centre. We seek to restore and empower young girls to take up their rightful place in society, or within their families. The programmes include: outreach services; two drop-in centres (one in the City Centre and the other in Leyds Street) ; Rebokamoso baby care centre; Lerato House shelter; Tswelelang foster home; & a second phase independent living facility. The outreach and drop-in centre serve girls and young women aged between 11 and 25 years. Rebokamoso caters for vulnerable babies aged between 0-3 years during the day At Lerato House, 70 young girls per year are supported to become re-integrated into society. This programme includes a transitional residential programme, family re-integration services, education and training support, individual counselling, life planning, and therapy.
