Mon Petit Pain

17 Hedge Street, Knysna, South Africa
The emphasis is on accessible and quick food made with the same goodness, high quality ingredients and attention to detail that île de païn is known for, with efficient and friendly service, in a relaxed and casual atmosphere. It is intended for the person on the run, seeking a fun, nutritious snack for breakfast or lunch. Grab and go - or slow down a bit, grab a casual seat, and enjoy your meal... A small selection of île de païn loaves is offered, as well as individual hearth breads, “petit pain” cakes, cookies, freshly pressed juice and coffee. “To go” meals and snacks in portions for one include: salads, soups, sandwiches and savoury bites. They make nutritious breakfast or lunch as well as great picnic or “padkos” fare. There are familiar faces from ile de païn to welcome you and dish up good food and friendly service. Monica leads the team, with Linda (île de païn sous chef) guiding the kitchen. Think slow food served fast.

Went there for lunch and found the menu very limited. You have to order and pay at the counter and then they deliver your food to the table. I find that the restaurant seems to be a lot closed.

We popped in for breakfast on a Monday morning - the place was very busy but we didn't have trouble getting a table. Staff were polite and professional.

I have eaten here a few times and cannot understand what the hype is about. Food is very average and on a few occasions pretty poor. It's expensive and service is not that great.

Food was not bad at all and juice was superb. What was a pity was the attitude of the staff. Not recommended if you are sensitive to standoffish staff.

This is a small coffee bar restaurant which serves coffee etc and light lunches/pastries until early afternoon. Easy paring and nice coffee and light lunches.

Had a great Banting breakfast, mushrooms, bacon, scrambled egg, tomato relish. Perfectly cooked. Best breads in town. I love the fact that you pay as you order so there is no waiting for the bill...
